'Whatever The Weather'

It's been a long time since my last post and it's a bank holiday weekend again! How did that come around so quickly again?!
So Pulse is done and dusted. It feels a bit after the event to post photos now (you can see some on my Facebook page) but it went well and I met lots of new people, chatted to existing stockists (finally putting faces to some names), took orders and caught up with friends - both of the trade show world, blog world (finally met Virginia from Roddy & Ginger) and old friends from University days. All in all a throughly tiring but worthwhile 3 days again.
So.....
I've been up to my eyes in orders since but I have some plans for over summer to keep me busy once the orders have quietened down a little. I would love to have an open studio, there's a couple of collaborations in the pipeline, new products and a few website tweaks along with plans for trade fairs next year (perhaps farther afield this time?!...)
In the meantime I thought I'd post one of my new prints - 'Whatever The Weather.' I've been meaning to do something weather-based for a while and the odd weather over the last few months spurred me on. So this print is to celebrate our preoccupation with the great British weather and all it's opposites and phrases. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It finally came together last bank holiday Monday so obviously I too am inspired by and preoccupied with the weather!
Printed in an edition of 100 - each signed and numbered - it's now available on my shop or I'm also giving away one of them if you head over to my Facebook page this weekend and like and share the post.
Happy bank holiday - hope it's glorious sunshine where you are!

Sun and work

My bank holiday was filled with sunshine but mostly looking at it from my studio door! I've been busy preparing for Pulse next weekend. I have my usual endless lists and things to do. I'm still hoping to get a sneaky print finished and into my catalogue in the next two days!! Plus I've been packing my new social stationery packs ready to launch at the show. I've been planning these for ages so feel very excited to finally be showing them.
Even though I was working it wasn't so bad - I had the studio door open for the first time and worked in silence with the sun shining in and the moo-ing, baa-ing and tweeting for company. Very peaceful and just what I needed to be as productive as possible. I was quite tempted to take something outside to do.....! I settled for a picnic lunch in the garden with my husband and daughter and then a pub tea as reward for working hard!
